We seek to identify investment managers whom we believe have the culture, commitment, sustainable process, performance, business infrastructure and client service practices to meet our institutional buyers’ highest standards. These managers span a variety of product styles and asset classes based on market demand, long term application, diversification and sustainability. ARK Opportunistic Engagements:

While the majority of our capacity is dedicated to our strategic partnership engagements, ARK can provide a limited scope of services on a retainer and/or project basis where a strategic partnership is not currently warranted. Opportunistic engagements are typically provided to managers who are seeking specific firm management, business development, marketing and/or sales consultation related to a specific channel or limited case application. Examples of recent projects completed by ARK professionals include:

Branding:

Created new brands and enhanced a series of existing brands for investment management organizations seeking to attract institutional investors; defined the positioning, key attributes and delivery of the brand across all media.

Collateral:

Created a full suite of collateral materials for an emerging manager with 4 distinct strategies; created a common and complimentary design which can be utilized across all media, positioning pieces and core documents to enhance the firm’s brand awareness and institutional market appeal. Collateral components typically include profile sheets, commentary, monthly/quarterly publications, presentation decks, web positioning, correspondence, stationary, business cards, and PR, as well as other support materials and multi-media documents.

Web:

Created a web guide for the development of a core site, including navigation, home page layout, key messaging, content layering, key page attributes including side bars, quotes, factoids and branding statements, as well as design. Hired a core designer and worked with the firm’s web host to expedite the establishment of a baseline site offering appropriate for the institutional market. Integrated client log in technology and enhanced site value by consistently incorporating key marketing messages and contact information.

Positioning Commentary:

Drafted core commentary pieces to assist in the positioning and intellectual capital offering of the firm;  utilized the commentary format to enhance the firm’s brand awareness and presence in the market through value added strategy explanation and positioning; created a series of quarterly commentary pieces to engage institutional and retail buyers.

Databases:

Facilitated the population of manager’s monthly and quarterly investment data into the series of most heavily utilized consultant and hedge fund databases; developed and integrated an extensive series of qualitative responses to assist in explaining the manager’s style, process and philosophy.

RFP Response Services

Created an RFP and DDQ database; utilized the database to respond to a large number of generic and specific RFP/RFI requests across a variety of product offerings.

Market Awareness Campaign:

Developed ad copy and PR announcements to build a general use awareness campaign; worked with publications and PR placement agencies to define the target market and to place the content.

Opportunistic Marketing Engagement:

Developed and implemented a channel specific marketing campaign to introduce the manager to a wide variety of institutional investors, including consultants, family offices, endowments & foundations, wealth advisors, pensions, public funds, platforms and RIAs; drove email and phone sales activities to generate interest, establish live meetings and generate sales.
